The shorter shank and slight gag makes the Tender Touch an excellent transition or intermediary bit. It can also be used in competitive events providing the horse is balanced and responsive to the rider's cues. Adjust to neutral position of one wrinkle, two fingers between the curb and chin. This bit is designed to apply pressure at the corners of the lip, across the tongue, on the bars and at the curb. 754
This is a great bit for elevating a horse's shoulder going into a turn. It aids the rider in holding a horse's shoulder steady, maintaining a more optimal body position around a barrel. Very fair and forgiving, the mouthpiece is set forward on the shank, which helps increase lift and lateral movement. This bit also helps to maintain forward motion on horses that anticipate a turn. The Shoulder Holder is also a great tool for retraining manmade habits in aged horses
